About

Kim Azcona Castaneda

Hi! I'm Kim (she/her/hers), the owner, designer, and creator of K.Azcona Designs.

My creative journey started with a love of art including drawing, painting, and eventually sewing. I later expanded my creative skills when I dove into the world of theatrical costuming. Years later I took things a step further and taught myself the art of bag making. I quickly fell in love with this medium where I could blend my love of art and sewing with the creativity of theatrical arts. I now utilize my varied skills and background to come up with truly unique, fun, and sometimes quirky bag designs and sewing patterns.

On a personal note, I identify as a Mexican-American cis-gender female with indigenous roots. My ancestors are Raramuri, also knows as Tarahumara (I highly recommend you research this incredible culture). Along with my husband, I care for an amazing child with special needs and a needy cat.

I believe that everyone, no matter their gender, race, sexual orientation, identity, ability, or culture, deserves to be treated fairly and equally. I believe that black lives matter, no human is illegal, women's rights are human rights, love is love, and access to safe abortions is a basic healthcare need. I do my best to partner with those who have the same values.
